5 Automations Every Sales Team Should Set Up Today

Your sales team is spending hours every week on tasks that should take seconds. CRM updates, lead assignments, follow-up reminders, meeting notes all the work that surrounds selling but isn't actually selling.

Here are five automations you can build in Flux in under 10 minutes each. They'll free up your team's time immediately and your pipeline will thank you.

1. Instant lead routing

The problem: A new lead submits a form. It sits in the CRM for hours until someone checks the queue, looks up the company, and figures out which rep should handle it.

The automation: When a new lead enters your CRM, Flux enriches the data with company size, industry, and location. It then assigns the lead to the right rep based on territory rules you define. The assigned rep gets a Slack notification with the lead's details and a one-click link to their calendar.

Time to build: 8 minutes. Time saved per week: 4-6 hours across the team.

2. Automated meeting follow-ups

The problem: After every sales call, the rep needs to update the CRM, send a follow-up email, create next-step tasks, and notify the solutions engineer if a technical review is needed. Most reps do some of this, some of the time.

The automation: When a meeting ends in your calendar, Flux prompts the rep to select an outcome (qualified, needs follow-up, not a fit). Based on the selection, it updates the deal stage in the CRM, sends a templated follow-up email customized with the prospect's name and discussed topics, creates the next task, and loops in the right team members.

Time to build: 10 minutes. Time saved per week: 3-5 hours per rep.

3. Deal stage change alerts

The problem: A deal moves from proposal to negotiation. The VP of Sales doesn't know until the weekly pipeline review. The solutions engineer doesn't know they need to prepare a technical deep-dive. Finance doesn't know to prepare the contract.

The automation: When a deal's stage changes in the CRM, Flux notifies the relevant people based on the new stage. Moved to negotiation? Alert the VP and solutions engineer. Moved to closed-won? Notify finance, customer success, and the onboarding team. Moved to closed-lost? Trigger a loss analysis survey to the rep.

Time to build: 6 minutes. Time saved per week: 2-3 hours of status chasing eliminated.

4. Weekly pipeline report

The problem: Every Monday morning, someone spends an hour pulling data from the CRM, formatting it in a spreadsheet, and emailing it to leadership. By Tuesday, the data is already stale.

The automation: Every Monday at 7am, Flux pulls your pipeline data total pipeline value, deals by stage, deals closing this month, stale deals with no activity in 14+ days formats it into a clean summary, and delivers it to Slack and email. The report is always current because it pulls live data every time it runs.

Time to build: 10 minutes. Time saved per week: 1-2 hours, plus leadership gets fresher data.

5. Stale deal nudges

The problem: Deals go quiet. A prospect who was enthusiastic two weeks ago hasn't responded to the last email. The rep has 40 other deals to manage and doesn't notice until the deal is effectively dead.

The automation: Flux monitors deal activity in the CRM. If a deal has had no activity for 7 days, it sends the rep a Slack reminder with the deal details and a suggested follow-up action. If there's still no activity after 14 days, it alerts the sales manager. This simple automation has helped our customers recover deals worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Time to build: 5 minutes. Time saved per week: incalculable it's the deals you would have lost.

Getting started

All five of these automations use Flux's pre-built templates. Go to your Flux dashboard, click Templates, filter by "Sales," and you'll find starting points for each one. Customize them to match your CRM fields and team structure, test with live data, and activate.

Total setup time for all five: under 45 minutes. Total time saved per week: 15-20 hours across your sales team. That's two full days of selling time you're giving back to your team every single week.
